Hello! I have completed my Ph.D. in Psychology at the University of Crete, where I was also a Marie Sklodowska Curie Fellow as part of the Neo-PRISM-C Innovative Training Network. Meanwhile, I am a licensed School Psychologist in Cyprus.
My doctroral research focused on the development and implementation of a multimodal intervention program (child training and parent training) known as 'Child ViReal Support Program'. This comprehensive intervention program is designed for children with attention deficits and their parents. The individualized child training program utilizes the potentials of immersive virtual reality (iVR) technology for the training of focused and sustained attention and integrates techniques based on the cognitive-behavioral approach to help children develop behavioral and emotional self-regulation skills. The parents' group psychoeducation program gives parents the opportunity to get trained on behavior modification techniques, optimal parental practices, and strategies to support their children's cognitive development, all while learning how to address their own stress and anxiety.
I am deeply interested in the intersection of psychology/neuroscience and technology. My research employs a variety of methodological tools, including virtual reality and computerized cognitive tasks. Howerver, I also emphasize traditional, evidence-based interventions to support children with neurodevelopmental dysfunctions and their families.
On this website, you can explore more about my research, my professional journey, and the guiding principles that shape my work. I believe in the power of innovation and evidence-based practice to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and their families.
